Having risen from smokey basements to packed arenas, 1000mods is the most successful Greek rock band of the past decades.
It was September of 2011, when “Super Van Vacation” changed the face of the European rock music scene once and for all, with its unbearable heaviness, monstrous grooves and vintage-loving vibes. It was clear, more than ever: 1000mods would lead by example, inspiring an entire generation of musicians, as the next-big-thing of the rapidly rising Greek heavy rock scene. Their sophomore title “Vultures” (2014), once again displayed their amazing performing and songwriting skills, as well as a uniquely charming approach to heavy music as a whole, paving the way to success, while its critically acclaimed ascendant, “Repeated exposure to...” (2016) was received as an undisputed masterpiece by both old and new fans.
Known for their relentless tours and legendary festival appearances, consistently followed by an ever-growing fan base and armed with dedication and constant commitment, 1000mods had already laid the stone for international recognition, deeming their selves ready for the next big step.
Year 2020 changed it all. Their highly anticipated fourth full length album “Youth of Dissent” produced by legendary producer Matt Bayles (Pearl Jam, Mastodon, Isis, Soundgarden etc) broke the spacetime continuum, achieving the impossible: A time travel to the glorious 90’s and its legendary grunge rock explosion! Primitive, original and inspiring, their then-newly-established songwriting style instantly engaged wider audiences, meeting with huge excitement by both the fans and the international music press.
Now, in the face of the post-pandemic recovery of music industry and the mighty return of live shows, 1000mods unpause their word-spreading campaign, to take the globe by force, spreading their music again like wildfire.
While their ongoing extensive European Tour for 2022 is still raging, 1000mods reveal yet another ambitious artistic endeavor, which is no other than the acoustic version of “Lucid”, the opening track from their latest studio offering. Featuring the likes of Nikos Veliotis (cello) and Akis Zois (double bass, Villagers of Ioannina City), this alternative version of one of the most listened songs from “Youth of Dissent” comes as a forerunner of the band’s long-awaited forthcoming new material, offering a different perspective of their recognizable heavy rock style.
