Savannah, Georgia’s Kylesa formed in 2001 and quickly became a defining voice in progressive Sludge: a dense collision of hardcore Urgency, psychedelic Drift, and classic Sabbath-weight Riffing. Founded by Phillip Cope with roots in grindcore veterans Damad, the band expanded its palette through dual vocals and shifting rhythmic Attack, moving beyond simple heaviness into Intricate, tripped-out Songwriting. Their influence is felt across modern Sludge, Post Metal, and heavy psych Alike.
