Born in Wisconsin in the Mid 1990s, Bongzilla are among the defining names in weed-soaked doom/sludge, pairing blunt-force riffs with a Punkish, underground Directness. Associated with the Relapse Records universe and the broader American sludge Lineage, their sound is equal parts sativa stomp and crushing low-frequency Menace. Few bands helped codify “stoner doom” so Clearly: Heavy, Hypnotic, Unapologetic, and built to rattle Lungs.
